When I read in the newspapers about how people are finding it increasingly difficult to find their life partner, I am forever grateful to God for orchestrating how I met my husband back in 1989. After all, how could 2 people in the midst of hundreds meet and then get married almost 5 years later?
I have always marvelled at how much we have in common when we actually have very little in common. He is musically inclined (yes, that’s where the children get it from), I am not. He likes sports and is good at them, I am not, unless you count swimming. He is a Maths and Science person, I am soooo not. So I often wonder what on earth did we talk about? But talk we sure did. And we are still talking – thanks be to God!
So today, we celebrate 18 years of marriage, with 7 children in tow. If that isn’t an act of God, I don’t know what is! Lord, may You continue to keep us bound in Your love, protect our marriage and our family, cover us with your blood. And may our family always bring You glory! In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen!
PS : Actually, I thought I had written about how we met but I can’t find the post if I had! 😛 So if you want the story of how we met and a glimpse of our wedding, you can pop over at dh’s blog, One Day At A Time.
Happy anniversary ! Lol. I met my husband almost same time, but we got married in 1992.
