Back in January 2012, my dear husband shared in his January Newsletter that he had been given a word, “abundance” by the Lord. And now in December, as I look back, it has indeed been a year of abundance.
- In the homeschooling front, we were blessed to be able to graduate another child from the PSLE ritual.
- In the home front, we were blessed to be able to renovate our 7 year old flat.
- In the family front, we were blessed to be able to go to Perth, Australia for 8 days.
- In the health front, we were blessed to see much healing in our constant battle with eczema and other allergies.
We can only bow down in total awe that God should do this for us. For indeed :
What is man that You are mindful of him,
And the son of man that You visit him?
Ps 8:4
All I can say is, “Thank You, Lord for Your manifold mercies!”
No, not all was hunky dory. There has been struggles and loss and grief which I am not able to share at this time. But even through those events, God’s faithfulness and His mercies were palpable. Indeed the psalmist says it best when he wrote :
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil;
For You are with me;
Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.
Ps 23:4
And for the year ahead, I look to Proverbs 3:5-8 as my guiding light. And I have deliberately written this down so that as the days pass, sometimes at startling speed, I want to remember what the Lord said :
Trust in the Lord with all your heart,
And lean not on your own understanding;
In all your ways acknowledge Him,
And He shall direct your paths.
Do not be wise in your own eyes;
Fear the Lord and depart from evil.
It will be health to your flesh,
And strength to your bones.
Prov 3:5-8
May the Lord bless the days ahead of you in 2013 as you seek His face. May you have a blessed Christmas and a blessed New Year!
