Local people – Did you read yesterday’s Straits Times article, “6 Words That Say It All”?
Written by Wong Kim Hoh, the article features Morning Star Community Service‘s initiative to get people to take stock of their lives by asking themselves the question – “what truly matters to me” in just 6 words. The article then features interviews and photos of people – young and old who are given the opportunity to articulate what truly matters to them.
It was interesting to read what motivates different people in our society. And I think it is a good exercise for each of us to undertake especially as we head towards the end of 2010. What we believe matters and should be lived out in our lives. Because if we believe something but live our lives contrary to it then the dissonance will cause dissatisfaction and discontentment. Besides it will be a total waste of our lives living out something that we don’t believe in!
What truly matters to me is To Fulfil My Calling in Jesus. I do not want to waste my time doing things that do not help me fulfil His call in my life. Life is short. We do not know when we will be called back to give an account of our time here on earth. And I want to hear my Lord saying, “Well done good and faithful servant” (Matthew 25:21) 🙂
So what truly matters to you?
Amen!
