Renovations!

When we first moved into our maisonette in 2005, we could only afford to do up the three toilets and kitchen. We just thanked God that the previous owner barely lived in it so the floor and wall tiles were in good condition. Then we re-painted the entire flat and moved in. We had only […] Read more…

The High Price of University Education in Singapore

According to the article, “How to fund your child’s education”, in today’s Sunday Times (12 August 2012), we would need S$36,000 for a 4-year, non-medical degree now and S$55,218 in 20 years’ time. And if the child cannot make it into any of our local universities or wants to do a course unavailable locally, a 4-year, non-medical US […] Read more…

Raising Christian Families in Today’s World

It is tough being a parent in today’s fast moving world, with society often challenging, instead of supporting, parental rights. As Christians, we are to shine as beacons of hope but most of the times we too become overwhelmed by the pressures that surrounds us. In response to this increasing pressure, my dear husband, Reverend […] Read more…

And a 12 year old needs to know this???

Sometime ago, while going through dd’s work for the day, I came across this vocabulary question. See question 9. Extended breastfeeding. Finally weaned at 34 months.

Weaned!

Once I couldn’t imagine it but now it has come and passed. I am no longer nursing. The “baby” has weaned at 34 months, just after CNY (January 2012). Can you believe it? I have been nursing since April 1998. Not long but not short either. It has been a wonderful journey. It is nice to have one’s body back to oneself though.  Read more…

Toilet Training for the 7th Time

Toilet training is not one of my favourite things to do as a parent. It is something I would gladly pay someone else to do it 🙂 But there you go, our 7th child seems to have been completely toilet trained, day and night. But there are of course still accidents. Especially when she is […] Read more…

Chinese New Year and GAPS

We survived Christmas on GAPS mostly because we didn’t have any Christmas dinners and parties 🙂 Well, I did have one with my friends. It was a lunch gathering and I brought my food along. But Chinese New Year is a different ballgame altogether. There will be many visits and lunches and dinners out. Oh […] Read more…
