I used to be able to multi-task very efficiently. But lately I have discovered that I am unable to anymore. I am not sure if it has to do with growing older or if it is my mind rebelling against the multiple number of tasks I insist it does all at one time.
As I was reluctantly coming to the conclusion that it is just easier and less stressful for me if I focus on one thing at a time, I came across a book recommendation, The One Thing by Gary Keller. It is a self-help book available at the library, which basically says, that focusing on ONE big thing is best for our lives and our work ie being jack of all trades is less powerful than being the grandmaster of one trade.
And then I came across a quotation from Kevin Systrom, American entrepreneur, software engineer and co‑founder of Instagram, “Focusing on one thing and doing it really, really well can get you very far.”
Confirmation much, you think???
