As a SAHM it is sometimes pure drudgery to go through each day. The housework never gets done, cooking is a never-ending chore and training and teaching children that don’t seem to get it makes one wants to vomit blood.
So how? 😀
This is where I do 2 things – I will myself to keep on keeping on and just do the next thing. And then as I am doing that next thing, turn to the Holy Spirit for help. Because “those who wait on the LORD Shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles, They shall run and not be weary, They shall walk and not faint.” Isaiah 40:31.
For I know that on my own strength, I can’t do it. I just want to throw in the towel and run away. I often feel weary and want to faint from the things that needs to be done. But “with God all things are possible.” (Matthew 19:26).
May I encourage you to do that whenever you feel overwhelmed?
Does it mean it is easy? Nope. Does it mean the problem will go away? Nope again. Then what’s the point?! 🙂 The point is that when we do that, our focus will change and so will our attitudes. He has called us to do this, He will enable us. It is not our own strength or wisdom but His. Like how the new agers term it “we tap into His power” 🙂
But please do not think that I never yell at the children or just throw up my hands in frustration. That’s why I wrote this post – to remind myself as well as to encourage you 🙂
amen!
Thanks for the timely encouragement, dear Serene! I need that 🙂
