When I had Anna in our master bedroom almost 13months ago and shared her Spirit-led birth story on my blog, I was so grateful that God was in the whole situation. From the pregnancy to the birth, He was there. Yet I was told that I have been irresponsibly influencing multitudes of people into birthing unassisted in their bedrooms 😛 Hmmm……
Share the joy
Why can’t they see the beauty of a Spirit-led birth but must instead see all the negative could-haves. Of course, in every birth something bad can happen. Whether one births in the hospital or at home. But it didn’t. So why can’t people share in the joy and celebrate the design of God’s handiwork in pregnancy and childbirth?
Not pro-homebirth or anti-hospital birth
Anyway, in case anyone reading this blog is now inspired to take things into their hands and go have an unassisted birth, please do go read what I have written in An Unassisted but God-Led Birth before you make that decision.
Do your own homework
And in case you choose not to go read it 🙂 I will say it again – the decision was not taken at the spur of the moment. I did my homework and please note that my birth stories are not to celebrate what *I* have done but rather what we have experienced when we trusted God in our births.
Hi, I feel ur frustrations… I had a lot of negative remarks and “sorries” when I announced my pregnancy…:( I guess fallen men see with fallen lenses….
Take it as a compliments as they obviously thought your blog has the reach and influence to make a difference. That is so, and you should use it for His glory.
I, for one, have been encouraged by your testimonies. My first dd will be born in coming Jul, and I sure have found your common sense approach helpful and your experiences have encouraged me to push on to trust God more. Thanks for sharing on your websites. Dun stop, k?!
Thanks Angela and Wei Wei! 🙂
