Serving the Lord
All Christian parents I believe, would want their children to serve the Lord. How exactly this works out can be very different family to family. And from season to season.
In our family, we have seen it change over the years as the children grew up and developed the talents the Lord has blessed them with.
The older 2
David, our first born started off first – naturally. He served in the worship team of our previous Church. We are grateful that he had the opportunity to play and learn from those much older and experienced than him when he was only 8. Those opportunities coupled with his own hard work saw him learning how to play the keyboard, drums, electric guitar and bass.
Meanwhile, Sarah served as a singer in the Worship Team when she turned 8.
For a long while it was just these two serving the Lord with their musical talents. It was always a proud mama moment to watch Henson call David up to help him minister with the keyboard or guitar when he was preaching at another church which was not familiar with the music he wanted playing in the background while he prayed and ministered.
The middle 3
Once Archippus Awakening was birthed and actively serving the Body of Christ, the other children also stepped up.
David and Sarah continued to serve with their musical talents. But the others preferred to help out behind the scenes instead.
Aaron became the official sound and photography guy while Esther helps out with by handling projector duties. Aaron also serves in the Sound Ministry at our Church.
If you have seen this publicity banner (below) for our upcoming AWE 2017.2 event, Esther is the one who did the lettering for it. She has her own Yarn and Ink blog and sells on Carousell too!
Ruth also helps out whenever we have a book table set up to sell Henson’s books. She would be responsible for making sure the number of books sold tallied with the amount of money collected. Not as easy a task as it looks!
The younger 2
At the moment, all they have to do is look cute while we wait to see what the Lord has prepared for them.
